Joanna Connor

The Queen of Blues Rock Guitar

Opening- Bees Deluxe

Reviews on Joanna's latest CD she will be performing

“A Masterpiece of Blues Rock.”– Music News
“Joanna Connor is at the top of her game.”– Rock and Blues Muse

“This recording ranks as Joanna Connor’s best to date, and I believe it has something to do with her producer, Joe Bonamassa; he has brought out the best in her.”– 10/10 Powerplay Magazine

“Her best album to date. It oozes style. Raw, pure and traditional blues.” – Blues Matters Magazine

“Musically, 4801 South Indiana Avenue With Bonamassa and Smith assisting, Connor’s performance offers her iconic playing, delivered with joyful abandon and plenty of attitude.” – AllMusic

Joanna Connor’s musical odyssey began. The Blues was part of the lexicon. Joanna’s favorite record as a child was Taj Mahal’s “Take A Giant Step/ The Old Folks At Home”.
Seeing Buddy Guy perform at a local university at the age of 10 left a paramount impression

Bees Deluxe

You only have to look at the song titles to see that you do not have to deal with an average blues band here. And that also applies to the musical plane. It is almost impossible to stick a musical label on the Bees Deluxe from Boston. They keep it on "acid bluesband" but I think that term is far too limited. Personally, I think it's great when a band throws all sorts of music styles into a blender and makes it unique. And that certainly happens on this album!

— Peter Marinus, Blues Magazine

what might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo

— Blues Blast Magazine

Solid vocals surrounded by a tight band, and check out the tones he gets out of his guitar; this cat can play.

RL Boice.jpg

RL Boyce Band

First Time Here

R.L. Boyce a Hill Country Blues living legend, has one foot rooted deeply in the past and the other reaching towards the future of American Blues music. An originator of his craft RL started out playing drums with his Uncle Otha Turner's traditional fife and drum group. RL joined Otha Turner's Rising Stars Fife & Drum Band at the age of 15. He was an active member of Otha's band for 30 years. In the late 1980s RL sat down behind a drum kit for Jessie Mae Hemphill.

Did some recording and toured with Jessie Mae Hemphill and Otha before embracing the guitar on a dare from Luther Dickinson and developing his own STYLE.

RL:s style Hill Country BOOGIE is a recipe of hypnotic repetitive guitar sedate and sparse. Free form improvisational ingredients for cooking up a marvelous Mississippi endless boogie. Perfect sounds for sipping moonshine and watching

the dragonfly fly by. RL:s country blues roots are signature to his modern blues style. A remarkable man who continues to mystify most with his subtle variations of the blues scale never playing his songs the same way twice. That's his STYLE.

Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials

Opening- Slim & The Perkolators

Lil' Ed

”Electrifying, raucous, pure Chicago blues….Lil’ Ed is a guitarist extraordinaire….slashing slide and flamboyant stage persona.” – Chicago Tribune

“Rough and ready blues played with unmitigated intensity…Swirling, snarling, riveting slide….The Blues Imperials pound out riffs and rhythms like they’re overdosing on boogie juice.  Scorching and soulful, joyous and stomping.” – Living Blues

In Chicago, a city overflowing with unrivaled blues talent, world-renowned Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials have been standing tall for almost 30 years. The band’s big sound, fueled by Lil’ Ed’s gloriously rollicking slide work and deep blues string bending, along with his rough-edged, soulful vocals, is as real and hard-hitting as Chicago blues gets. The Chicago Sun-Times says, “Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials are the hottest purveyors of bottleneck boogie to come out of Chicago since Hound Dog Taylor.”

Slim & The Perkolators

Formed 6 years ago by veteran Pennsylvania Blues Hall of Fame guitar player Tim "the Perkolator" Perks and young Harmonica ace Derek "Harmonica Slim" Matteson, SLim & The Perkolators have developed a sound that incorporates classic Chicago style house rocking blues, west coast jump/swing, rock and roll and roots music that both engages and entertains audiences everywhere they play.

A Tribute to Sheryl Crow

and The Pretenders

Why Chrissie Crow? The project started with their love of the Pretenders who embodied the raw power of rock with great melodies. It was decided that Sheryl Crow would be an ideal compliment, enabling the band to pay tribute to two incredible female singer songwriters, and adding a nice blend of American roots rock to the show.

This is a great seasoned band of musicians you won't want to miss first time here.

Chrissie Crow is dedicated to bringing you the ultimate tribute to two great artists in a night of energy and fun.

Impressively, theirs includes people like Bruce Springsteen, David Bryan of Bon Jovi, Steve Cropper of Booker T and the MG's, John Popper of Blues Traveler, Bernie Worrell of Parliament-Funkadelic, and Hubert Sumlin all of whom have volunteered to perform on the band's album, Brotherhood.

An ever-expanding career of ramshackle grandeur.  Bill “Watermelon Slim” Homans has built a remarkable reputation with his raw, impassioned intensity. HARP Magazine wrote “From sizzling slide guitar…to nitty-gritty harp blowing…to a gruff, resonating Okie twang, Slim delivers acutely personal workingman blues with both hands on the wheel of life, a bottle of hooch in his pocket, and the Bible on the passenger seat.” Paste Magazine writes “He’s one hell of a bottleneck guitarist, and he’s got that cry in his voice that only the greatest singers in the genre have had before him.”
