Hurricane Ruth

With Special Guest: Scott Holt

Hurricane Ruth LaMaster is a vocal powerhouse. Hurricane Ruth earned her name because no one believed that such a large sound could come out of such a small woman!
The POWER of Big Mama Thornton; FIRE of Janis Joplin; boundless stage ENERGY of Tina Turner, and SOULFULNESS of Aretha Franklin all rolled into a petite dynamo!
The great WILLIE DIXON once told Ruth “You’re the only hurricane I can appreciate”.
Ruth has performed with John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Willie Dixon, Taj Mahal, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Sam & Dave, Fenton Robinson, Maynard Ferguson and his orchestra, and most recently; Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Royal Southern Brotherhood, and Ronnie Baker Brooks. Ruth’s vocals are deeply rooted in traditional blues, but make no mistake, she can rock the house!

Guitar virtuoso Scott Holt first came to national prominence as part of various high energy bands led by legendary Chicago blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy. He was just 23 when Guy took him under his wing and taught him how to travel intelligently while accommodating the rigorous nature of blues touring.

represents a pivotal period in the evolution of the iconic Santana sound. The
collaboration of these, brilliantly paired musicians, reproduces this sound with
spot-on precision. Stone Flower’s seemingly effortless syncopation of
percussion delivers a spellbinding resonance that gets the audience

The series was produced in Ottawa, Ontario at the CJOH-TVstudios. An additional set of episodes was produced in 1975, billed as The New Kreskin Show. He appeared on The Tonight Show 61 times from 1970 to 1980. Albert Castiglia

“It may be a bit premature to crown Albert Castiglia America's newest King of the Blues, but there's little doubt that he at least deserves the title of heir apparent.” -- Miami New Times

As most artists will attest, the most unexpected circumstance can spark artistic inspiration. That’s a fact that hasn’t been lost on singer, songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire Albert Castiglia. With his latest album, the aptly named Masterpiece, he celebrates an unforeseen triumph -- a connection with a daughter he never knew he had.
