SOLOMON plays DYLAN
A solo acoustic tribute to Bob Dylan
featuring Gary Solomon of
The THE BAND Band
There is perhaps no more influential, profound, or enigmatic songwriter in history than Bob Dylan. From the "protest songs" of his early years to his introspective, sometimes caustic commentary on love and humanity, his songs have become an integral part of Americana and have garnered countless awards and honors around the world.
Gary Solomon, co-founder of the acclaimed tribute to The Band, The THE BAND Band, steps on stage alone, acoustic guitar and harmonica in hand, to present a broad selection of Dylan’s incredible catalog, delivered singer-songwriter style.
Dylan's music has been played, covered, copied, reworked, reinvented, and reconstructed more than perhaps any other songwriter in history, by everything from rock bands to jazz combos to concert orchestras. Here, Solomon pares down the production to the fundamental singer-songwriter format, from which most of these songs originated, allowing Dylan's compelling lyrics and beautiful melodies to flow, direct and unadorned

The Nighthawks
In April of 2022 VizzTone released the Nighthawks album "Established 1972" which represents 50 years of Washington DC’s road warriors going strong.
On this landmark anniversary, founder, lead singer and harpmaster Mark Wenner is still at the helm, while drummer Mark Stutso, guitarist Dan Hovey and bassist Paul Pisciotta all share vocals and songwriting, making this lineup one of the strongest ever. Decades of gigs and countless rabid fans have earned them the name “The Best Bar Band In The World.” More than a bar band or blues band, as they’re frequently labeled, this is a band that played with Carl Perkins in addition to Muddy Waters.
Produced by the Nighthawks and longtime compadre David Earl, in 2020 they took advantage of the pandemic slowdown to hunker down in Earl’s Severn Sound Studios in Annapolis, Maryland and crank out fourteen new tracks in classic Nighthawks style combining Memphis grooves with the perfect touch of funk.
In the tradition they set forth on Rock and Roll, the band’s debut 1974 recording and mission statement, the material is not bound by genre other than the widest range of American Roots Music.

Stanley Plays the Dead
Afternoon Show
Guitarist Stanley Jordan has formed a new band called Stanley Plays The Dead. Jordan has always loved the Grateful Dead's music and Jerry Garcia's playing in particular, and this 4-piece unit was founded to share that love with the fans.
"Stanley Jordan playing the Grateful Dead-wait, what?" Actually, while this may seem surprising to some, anyone who really knows Stanley well won't be fazed in the least. Stanley has always held a diverse array of influences including classical, rock, World music and Americana. The Grateful Dead fits in there perfectly.
Stanley says, "The Dead's repertoire is an important part of the Great American Songbook. Over time people are realizing this more and more." One thing that's helping folks to appreciate it is the growing number of bands doing Grateful Dead tributes, and in many cases taking the music in new directions. Stanley Plays The Dead is definitely part of that trend. Jordan explains, "One mark of a good song is that it can be reinterpreted in many ways and it still holds up. These songs definitely fit that description."
Of course Jordan always puts a unique spin on things, and this project is no exception. So what's the spin? Stanley describes it as "Cosmic vible variations on the music of the Grateful Dead." He explains, "We're expanding the harmonic structure and adding more jazz elements, while preserving the original feel and flavor of the music. And most importantly, we're keeping the trippy vibe-maybe even deepening it."

Cristina Vane
Powered by her signature take on blues and rock, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cristina Vane’s debut album, Nowhere Sounds Lovely, earned her praise from the likes of American Songwriter and Rolling Stone Country, which deemed it ‘mesmerizing stuff’.
A deft multi-instrumentalist and captivating vocalist, she began writing songs and playing guitar in her teens, before the power of slide guitar captured her attention one summer in London and changed the course of her sound. After graduating from Princeton University, Vane moved to Los Angeles with a dream to pursue her constant passion, music. There, inspired by Rory Block, Skip James, and Blind Willie Johnson, she began teaching herself slide in open tunings and found herself working at folk staple McCabe’s guitar shop where the universe conspired in her favor by putting under the tutelage of her fingerstyle guitar mentor, Pete Steinberg. It was also at McCabe’s that Vane began her journey on the clawhammer banjo, and continued to busk on the Venice Boardwalk, putting in countless hours of practice to become closer to the powerhouse performer she is today.

Chris Trapper
For someone who’s been on the road for more than 150 dates a year for the past 15 years, Chris Trapper appears to have taken his unsolicited break from touring pretty well. In between weekly livestreams on Facebook & Instagram, Trapper also performed in his fan's backyards across the country all summer long during his “Socially Distanced Backyardapalooza”. To top it all off, Chris entered a studio near his home in Boston, MA to record his new album “Cold Water Waltz”.
“Recording an album in normal times is an interesting experience, so imagine creating new music during a global pandemic. Although I worked intensely with the producers (Brad Young and Jason Meeker) in their respective studios, I could rest assured because as most musicians know; audio engineers were socially distanced before it was trending.”
The album is a mostly stripped-down affair, with the focus squarely on Trapper’s achingly honest lyrics, honeyed tenor and delicate fingerpicking. The record features Boston legends Duke Levine (Aimee Man, Peter Wolf) & Jim Prescott (G Love & Special Sauce) as well as Matt Beck (Matchbox Twenty, Rod Stewart) & even a co-write with Rob Thomas.
